Why Permanent Makeup for Cancer Patients?
Permanent Makeup, 3D areola tattooing, and scar camouflaging can be a powerful way to help you feel more like yourself, especially during or after chemotherapy and radiation. Eyebrows and eyeliner can help recreate the natural appearance of brows and lashes that may be lost during treatment. Lip blushing adds natural-looking color when lips become pale due to treatment or lower red blood cell counts. 3D areola tattooing and scar camouflaging can restore what surgery may have taken away and support emotional healing after a mastectomy or reconstruction. And scalp micropigmentation can help fill in thinner areas if hair regrowth is patchy post treatment.
When is the Right Time for the Procedure?
If you’re considering permanent makeup in connection with cancer treatment, timing is key. Ideally schedule your procedure at least 7 days before starting chemo or radiation, while your immune system is still strong. Once treatment begins, we’ll need to wait 6 weeks to one year after completion, with your oncologist’s clearance, before moving forward with any permanent cosmetic procedures. Many clients choose to have brows, eyeliner, or lip color done before treatment but if you wait until afterward, these services can still help restore color, shape, and confidence, especially if hair does not fully return. Scar camouflaging and 3D areolas are typically done after reconstruction surgery is complete. Scalp micropigmentation and scalp microblading is typically done after treatment if hair does not grow back fully.
